Operator Supply

Operator Petroleum

As an Operator Petroleum you'll work with a wide range of vehicles and equipment with multiple teams in a variety of environments. Your role is critical to supporting Army operations, which are reliant on fuel to ensure mobility on the ground or in the air. It's the Operator Petroleum's task to ensure refueling capability in the field on exercise or during operational deployment. Gun Number

As a Gun Number, the Army will provide you with all of the training required to ensure the Artillery Corps is bang on target everytime. The Artillery Corps provides essential fire support to ground troops in operational environments. Working in a select group you'll develop a wide range of personal skills, such as leadership, communication, teamwork and the ability to perform in challenging situations.

Avionics Technician

Imagine going from having no previous experience in the area of aviation to being able to confidently diagnose and effectively repair a problem with a Blackhawk helicopter. As an Avionics Technician you will make sure the equipment onboard Army aircraft is functioning accurately. The training we provide will give you the knowledge to confidently meet the daily challenges of identifying and investigating issues on a range of Army helicopters. Through experience and comprehensive training, you will get to know Army aircraft inside out, and your skills and accomplishments will be recognised and rewarded.

Telecommunications Systems Technician

Communications are vital to ensure Army commanders can contact and control deployed forces in peace, crisis and conflict on any operation, anywhere in the world. As a Telecommunications Systems Technician in the Army, you'll learn to supply that information using radio, microwave and satellite links.

The Army relies on its equipment to be in perfect working order and it'll be your job to ensure that happens. You'll provide commanders with the means of controlling the battlefield using a number of methods including radio, fibre optic, microwave, information systems and satellite links. This role is diverse and challenging, and you'll receive first-rate training to prepare you for it. Moreover, you will receive ample opportunity for career progression and the opportunity to travel both within Australia and overseas.

Pilot Aviation Cadetship

To ensure you're up to the challenges you might face, you'll take part in a Flight Screening Program to measure your abilities and see whether you have what it takes. Successful completion of the Flight Screening Program will secure you an Aviation Cadetship and a guaranteed place on Pilot's Course once you've completed your Army Officer training at the prestigious Royal Military College (RMC) - Duntroon. After 18 months of officer training, you'll graduate as a Lieutenant in the Army and commence your pilot training. You'll learn the basics of flying and the specific skills required to fly a rotary wing aircraft.

The Army relies on helicopters to assist in a range of different missions including airlifting personnel to safety, reconnaissance flights, transporting urgent supplies and dropping soldiers into inaccessible and remote areas. As a helicopter pilot in the Army you'll consistently be called on to use your initiative and flying skills to operate some of the most highly-sophisticated state-of-the-art machinery in the world.
