ESSENDON’S livewire small forward Alwyn Davey has won two of the three round-five nominations for the 2007 Toyota AFL Mark of the Year award.
Davey is nominated for his outstanding goals in the first and second quarters of the Anzac Day blockbuster against Collingwood.
He is up against another electrifying goalsneak, Carlton’s Eddie Betts, who was nominated for a spectacular effort in the shootout between the Blues and the Brisbane Lions at Telstra Dome.

Jay Schulz and Luke McGuane’s high-flying efforts against the West Coast Eagles are up against a hanger from the Kangaroos’ Aaron Edwards against Geelong.

Essendon players scooped the pool in round-four voting, with Patrick Ryder taking out the 2007 Toyota Mark of the Year nomination, and teammate Dustin Fletcher winning the 2007 Toyota Goal of the Year nod for his massive torpedo against the Saints.
In 2007 the winners of the Toyota Mark and Goal of the Year awards will each receive $5000 for their grassroots club, presented by Toyota; the use of a Toyota Kluger CV for 12 months; a crystal replica of the official, perpetual Toyota AFL Mark of the Year and Toyota AFL Goal of the Year trophies, presented by the AFL and Toyota, and the Alex Jesaulenko Medal (mark) and the Phil Manassa Medal (goal), presented by Toyota.
At the end of round 22, the AFL All-Australian Selection Committee will decide the overall winners from the weekly winners.
