FAQs

Being a member brings you a number of exclusive benefits to use throughout the season.  In order to get the most out of your membership, this section will provide you with information on what's involved in being a member of the Hawthorn Football Club.

Heading to the game

Entering a venue and moving to your seat
Scan the barcode on the back of your membership card at the turnstiles.  Make sure you’re aware of which Hawthorn games you have admission to as different memberships have separate entry entitlements.  A full list of membership benefits is listed here.

After entering the venue, either move to your allocated reserved seat (If you’re a reserved seat holder, this will be printed on your card) or sit in the General Admission areas. For venue seating arrangements, contact the venue for specific information on where you can sit.

Can I take a friend to the football?
If you're a General Admission member, simply swipe your membership card to gain admittance.  Your friend will need to purchase a general admission ticket from the booking agency.  Once you've entered the venue, move to a general admission seat.

Members can purchase guest passes for the Member's Family Area from the Home Team Office on match day at a cost of $5 (plus ground admission).  Guest passes for the Family Area are subject to availability.  Guest passes are not available at Fully Ticketed matches.

I'm a Reserved Seating Member.  Can I take a friend to the football?
There are no Reserved Seating guest passes available.  Members will not be able to use their seasonal reserved seat and sit with non-member friends within their reserved seating allocation.    Guest passes for the Lindsay Hassatt Room ($15) and the Medallists Bar ($10) are available from the Home Team Office on match day and are subject to availability.  Guest passes are not available at Fully Ticketed matches.

What is a 'fully ticketed match'?
If a home game is designated a fully-ticketed event, General Admission members will need to pre-book a seat with Ticketmaster or Ticketek prior to the game.  Pre-booking will incur reserved seating and booking fees that are not included in your membership fee.  All additional fees associated with a fully-ticketed game are liable for payment by the members wishing to attend.  Reserved seating members do not have to do anything for a fully-ticketed home game.  Simply swipe your membership card and enter the ground – your seat is already reserved.

If an away game is designated a fully-ticketed event, 16-game ticket holders will need to pre-book their admission through the booking agency and pay a booking fee (and reserved seating fee if applicable).  11-game ticket holders will need to pre-book their admission through the booking agency and pay both the admission and booking fee (and reserved seating fee if applicable).

I'm a concession member.  What do I need to do?

  • Please ensure you have either a pension card (aged, single parent or disability), full-time student card or veteran affairs card in your posession as you enter AFL venues
  • If you do not have one of the above cards when attempting to gain access with a concession membership card, you may be refused entry and your membership card will be confiscated.  Please call the Membership Department on 13000 HAWKS to upgrade to a full membership

2009 Season Fixture

What is a 'replacement game'?
With Hawthorn playing four of our allocated 11 home games in Tasmania, the Club has nominated away games in Rounds 3, 16, 17 and 21 as general-admission replacement games for Hawthorn members with this entitlement.  All members with entry entitlements will receive general admission entitlements only.  Reserved seats will not be accessible for these matches.

What happens if Hawthorn make the finals?
The Club will be in contact with you regarding finals ticketing procedures shortly before week 1 of the finals series.

How can I get tickets to interstate games?
The Club has access to a limited number of reserved seats for each interstate venue (except Aurora Stadium).  These tickets will be available to Hawthorn members living in the state where the game is being played approximately six weeks prior to each game via a ballot system.  Members will be notified of the ticketing process and availability at this time  More information can be found at hawthornfc.com.au or through 13000 HAWKS closer to the date.

Can I upgrade my membership?
Most definitely.  However, some membership packages have a limited capacity and may be sold out.  To enquire about upgrade options, visit the membership page or contact 13000 HAWKS for availability.

Member emails
eHawkTalk is sent weekly to all members and supporters and will be sent to this email address you have supplied us.  If you’d like eHawkTalk sent to a separate email address, please let us know by logging in to your My Hawks account

How do I change my personal information?

I'm unable to choose my reserved seats online.  Why?
To ensure the process is fair and thorough, the Membership Department manually allocates seats on a first-in basis (except for existing seat holders who renew prior to 15 December, 2008).  Due to the demanding nature of reserved seat sales, the online system is unable to show current availability of seating.  When purchasing a reserved seat online you'll be allocated a number i.e. 6-00031 to 6-00033.  These numbers do not represent actual seating.  Simply click 'add to cart' on any of the options shown to proceed through to the checkout.  The Membership Department will allocate the best possible reserved seating for you.
