BACKS
Heath Shaw (Collingwood) - Instrumental on his return against Hawthorn after missing round three with a back injury. Had 26 touches, including a game-high 18 effective kicks.

Kelvin Moore (Richmond) - Battled against the odds as Melbourne had 33 scoring shots, but still managed to stymie several attacks and provide rebound. His spoiling and marking under pressure was a highlight.

Beau Waters (West Coast Eagles) - After missing 2009 with a knee injury, reinforced his value against Essendon. His mix of hardness and polish reaped match-bests in effective kicks, uncontested possessions and rebound 50s.

HALF-BACKS
Andrew Walker (Carlton) - Helped set the tone against Adelaide before finishing with a career-best 36 disposals, including a match-high 20 effective kicks. He was also the leading rebounder with seven.

Harry Taylor (Geelong) - From a host of players who starred for the Cats against the Power, Taylor had claims for best-on-ground. He managed to curtail the influence of Warren Tredrea and win 30 disposals, including a game-high 15 contested.

Josh Drummond (Brisbane Lions) - Played a key role in the second half against the Bulldogs. Once again used the ball with excellent efficiency and gave the Lions first-class drive into attack.

CENTRES
Jared Brennan (Brisbane Lions) - Continued his fine start to the season with another best-on-ground display: 25 touches, a game-high 10 inside 50s and he provided spark in the second half when needed.

Brent Moloney (Melbourne) - Had an equal career-best 37 disposals against Richmond, including 14 touches in the third quarter, when Melbourne set up its dominant win. Also had nine inside 50s, nine clearances and nine tackles.

Daniel Hannebery (Sydney Swans) - Pivotal in the third term, winning 12 of his 27 touches to help set up the win over North Melbourne. The emerging Swan, who was later praised by Leigh Matthews on afl.com.au, also had 12 contested possessions.

HALF-FORWARDS
Brendon Goddard (St Kilda) - In the absence of superstar skipper Nick Riewoldt, one of the game's most versatile players pushed further up the field and finished with five goals and two scoring assists.

Matthew Pavlich (Fremantle) - Backed up his outstanding five-goal effort against last year's reigning premiers with another five against the 2009 runner-up. Pavlich's third quarter when he kicked three goals was a beauty.

Colin Sylvia (Melbourne) - After sustaining a broken jaw in the final NAB Challenge match and missing the opening three rounds, Sylvia returned in the best possible fashion, kicking a career-best five goals. He was also involved in five scoring assists.

FORWARDS
Stephen Milne (St Kilda) - Like Goddard, kicked five goals and played an excellent game on the back of a much-publicised week. His dribble from the boundary line in the final term was a cracker.

Daniel Bradshaw (Sydney Swans) - The former Lion backed up with another four goals. Bradshaw's marking was a feature, with 11 of his six grabs contested.

Steve Johnson (Geelong Cats) - The 2007 Norm Smith Medallist kicked an equal career-best six goals for the fourth time in his 134 matches. It was his best haul since round 10 last year, against Essendon.

FOLLOWERS
Nic Naitanui (West Coast Eagles) - Produced a dominant first half and made every touch count - 10 of his 13 disposals were contested. Had seven inside 50s, seven clearances, laid five tackles and kicked a goal.

Chris Judd (Carlton) - After missing the first three rounds through suspension from last year, the superstar returned with a best-on-ground display. Judd had 30 touches, including 15 contested, laid nine tackles, won six clearances and seven inside 50s.

Gary Ablett (Geelong Cats) - Produced another ripper with 37 disposals, giving him 145 touches so far this year. Ablett was also busy in front of goal, kicking three majors from six scoring shots and having two scoring assists.

INTERCHANGE
Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood) - Continued his midfield emergence in just his 15th AFL game, with a career-best 27 disposals, including nine contested. He also had five tackles.

Nick Dal Santo (St Kilda) - The classy midfielder was outstanding with 35 disposals, including 14 in the first term. He also had 13 contested possessions, six clearances and chipped in with two goals.

James Podsiadly (Geelong Cats) - The two-game, 28-year-old is already one of the feel-good stories of the season. He took a round-high six contested marks on debut last week and backed it up with five goals and 11 marks on Sunday.

Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle) - The competition's most in-form ruckman continued with another commanding display, winning 36 hit-outs and 22 touches, including 15 contested possessions.
