DO as I say, not as I do.

That is the mantra of authority figures around the world, and this week's footy vault has taken a look at what the AFL's coaches did throughout their careers.

AFL.com.au has uncovered footage from all 18 (including GWS) AFL coaches during their playing days.

Highlights of the likes of Michael Voss and James Hird were plentiful, but we dug through the archives to find rarely seen footage of Adelaide coach Neil Craig during his playing days with SANFL club Norwood.

Guy McKenna, John Worsfold and the Scott brothers Chris and Brad weren't noted goal kickers, but all seemed to enjoy the rare chances they got in front of the big sticks.

But the pick of the bunch has to be a Melbourne coach Dean Bailey launching a long bomb from the centre square for the Bombers against West Coast at Windy Hill in 1991 - though Rodney Eade's moustache goes close.
