WESTERN Bulldogs defender Brett Goodes is battling a minor wrist problem and may miss his team's clash with Melbourne this weekend.

Goodes suffered the injury during the Bulldogs' 60-point loss to Richmond at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

Bulldogs medical services manager Andrew McKenzie said the 29-year-old would face a test later in the week.

"We will monitor it throughout the week and make a decision closer to the game," McKenzie told westernbulldogs.com.au.

Recruit Koby Stevens will also be tested as he seeks to return from the shoulder injury that kept him out of Saturday night's loss to the Tigers.

McKenzie said the 22-year-old's condition was "improving".

The Bulldogs face the Demons at the MCG on Saturday night.
