DUE TO popular demand, legendary Australian musician Mike Brady has been called in to add to the AFL's Grand Final entertainment package.

In keeping with the Australian theme, Brady will join Hunters and Collectors and Birds of Tokyo in rocking the MCG.

Brady first performed at the 1979 Grand Final and returns to Australian Football's brightest stage for the first time in a decade.

He estimates he has sung at six or seven Grand Finals over the journey.

"It's the biggest week in Australian sport, as far as I'm concerned," Brady said.

"I'm delighted that the AFL have invited me back, I feel really privileged and it's a great honour."

Brady's renditions of Up there Cazaly and One Day in September have become synonymous with Australian Football.

Brady has been working in Ireland but leapt at the chance of returning to play at the MCG.

"Who passes on an opportunity like this? And I'm just hoping I don't have my Meat Loaf moment, that's all," he said.

The 64-year-old admits he has missed performing at the Grand Final over the past 10 years and he appreciates the opportunity to do it all over again.

"The MCG is such a big part of our community. To be a part of that day has got its own warmth. And you can feel it, you can physically feel it in the centre of that ground," he said.
