In summary, the matter has been directly referred to the Tribunal for its determination and he cannot accept an early plea on this matter.

Cyril Rioli, Hawthorn, has been charged with a level one engaging in rough conduct offence (125 demerit points, one-match sanction) for engaging in rough conduct against Michael Barlow, Fremantle, during the third quarter of the Grand Final between Hawthorn and Fremantle, played at the MCG on Saturday September 28, 2013.

As the offence was committed in the Grand Final, the original offence is doubled to draw 250 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record.
