What the club says
"We were pretty keen to get some speed into the place. Jarman Impey brings that and (Darcy) Byrne-Jones brings that, (Karl) Amon, so three of our four players bring that. We've openly talked about trying to get some key position forwards in and we've done that with (Mitchell) Harvey. We think with (Jared) Polec and (Matt) White in the trade period and these young kids we've really done a bit about our speed. We really thought small forwards and small backs [because] we needed some real speed, and outside run." Peter Rohde, Port Adelaide general manager of football

Pick 21 - Jarman Impey
"We liked him all the way through. He's flexible, can play through the midfield, can play forward and back, a really competitive kid, got real speed and can mark it for his size. He's a good all-round player." - Peter Rohde

Pick 45 – Mitchell Harvey
"He's a South Australian and we've watched him play a lot. Good mark, good kick, played really well in school footy and SANFL footy. He's a very impressive kid. He's Matty Rendell's nephew who we know really well. It's always good to pick South Australians if we can." - Peter Rohde

Pick 52 – Darcy Byrne-Jones
"We see him as being a very versatile player who can really run. He has great fitness so we can play him in a variety of spots. He'll take a year or two to develop physically, but you can see him adding something to our list. With less rotations, we think he'll help us out." - Peter Rohde

Pick 68 – Karl Amon
"He's a really quick player that can play midfield, forward and back. Gives us speed and run, which is exactly what we were looking for at this draft." - Peter Rohde
