ADELAIDE'S Patrick Dangerfield has moved up to No.3 in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Gatorade, after a dazzling performance in the Crows' win over Greater Western Sydney on Sunday.

Dangerfield's 33 disposals (18 contested), nine clearances and five goals equated to 33.7 player ratings points, which was the highest score of his career and also the highest score of the round.

It was enough for him to displace Geelong skipper Joel Selwood in third place, behind Gold Coast's Gary Ablett and Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury.

Magpies defender Heritier Lumumba has also broken into the top 100 for the first time in his career.

The 27-year-old has started the season in great fashion, using his dash and skill to help the Magpies surge to sixth place on the ladder.

Lumumba's tally of 710 metres gained in the Pies' big win over North Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday was the highest in the League over the Easter round.

The effort saw him jump from No.109 on the player ratings table to No.98.

Other top performers in round five were Geelong's Tom Hawkins (26.2) and Steve Johnson (25.5), Collingwood's Jamie Elliott (23.3), Gold Coast's Gary Ablett (22.3) and Sydney Swan Josh Kennedy (22.1).

Given the player ratings scoring system rewards players who move the ball forwards and hit targets, the style and standard of play in some matches impacted on the scores over the weekend.

The top scorer in Richmond's win over the Brisbane Lions was Tigers forward Shane Edwards, who tallied just 16.9 points.

And St Kilda's Jarryn Geary was the top scorer in the Saints' win over Essendon. Geary tallied only 18.2 points.

Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury remains the top scorer of the season to date with 113.6 points.

The other star performers in 2014 have been Ablett (111.8), Geelong captain Joel Selwood (94.9), Dangerfield (93.6) and Hawthorn forward Luke Breust (91.5).

The overall top five consists of Ablett, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Selwood and Essendon skipper Jobe Watson.

GWS midfielder Josh Kelly has taken the lead in the battle of the first-year players.

Kelly (52.8) leads St Kilda Luke Dunstan (52.4), North Melbourne's Luke McDonald (50.6) and Collingwood's Tom Langdon (41.9).
