WEST Australians Nick Robertson and Rohan Bewick have both re-signed with the Brisbane Lions.

Bewick, 24, has revitalised his career in the past six weeks and earned himself a new one-year deal, while first-year midfielder Robertson has signed a two-year extension, tying him to the club until at least the end of 2017.

Robertson's signature is particularly important, following the departure of five young players at the end of last season, due to homesickness.

There have been no such problems for the powerful 19-year-old, who has played seven games in his first season after being selected with pick No.34 in last year's AFL Draft.

Bewick has turned is career around since being recalled in round 12 against the Western Bulldogs, averaging 19 disposals a game.

Coach Justin Leppitsch has used him on a wing and in tagging roles in recent weeks, and Bewick has responded.

Lions general manager of football operations Dean Warren said Robertson would play an important role in the future.

"He has really settled into life in Brisbane since making the move from Perth and has definitely showed plenty of signs that he is set for a big future with the Brisbane Lions," Warren said.
