RICHMOND midfielder Dan Jackson will be unavailable for the Tigers' must-win clash with the Sydney Swans after being suspended for a late bump in the VFL.

The club's reigning best-and-fairest winner was charged with rough conduct for an incident in the fourth quarter, and was hit with a one-match ban.

A VFL spokesperson confirmed the Tigers had accepted the penalty, meaning Jackson will not be able to return to the senior side until the finals, should they get there.

Richmond enters the meeting with the Swans at ANZ Stadium on the back of an eight-match winning streak. But it must beat the League leaders to make back-to-back finals series.

Jackson has played just 10 games this season dealing with a range of injuries, most recently a hip complaint.
