UP TO 15,000 Port Adelaide fans are expected to converge on the MCG, with the club's 'March to the G' to take place ahead of the preliminary final showdown against Hawthorn on Saturday afternoon.

Match preview: Hawthorn v Port Adelaide

The March to the 'G has become a tradition for Power supporters since the club's round one clash against Melbourne at the MCG in 2013.

Port had 10,000 fans for the March from the Mall (Rundle Mall in Adelaide) before the club's elimination final win over Richmond and it is expecting to eclipse that figure on Saturday.

Power fans will begin their march from Birrarung Marr, on the banks of the Yarra River, at 3.20pm (AEST) and arrive at the ground at approximately 3.40pm.

The Power held a pre-game function at Bells Hotel in South Melbourne.

The MCC is expecting a crowd of 70,000 for the big game, with the winner fighting for the right to take on the Sydney Swans in next Saturday's Grand Final.

The Power's official Twitter account posted some photos of the players limbering up at St Kilda beach earlier this morning.

Melbourne is expected to reach a top temperature of 17 degrees on Saturday, with the Bureau of Meteorology also predicting a 40 per cent chance of rain.
