LANCE Franklin won't be the only former Hawk his old club has to worry about in Saturday's Grand Final, with Josh Kennedy and Ben McGlynn also in fine form for the Sydney Swans.

While Franklin has been outstanding in his first season in Sydney, gun midfielder Kennedy and midfielder-forward McGlynn are each having their best year.

It would be no surprise if all three finished in the top five of the Swans' best and fairest.

Both Kennedy and McGlynn were traded to the Swans following the 2009 season, after battling to get games in the talent-packed Hawks team.

McGlynn played 44 times in four seasons and Kennedy played 13 games in two.

Kennedy, 26, is a leading contender in Monday's Brownlow Medal count, while 29-year-old McGlynn has gone to another level this year since spending the majority of his game time in the midfield.

Both Franklin and Kennedy are predicted to finish in the top 10 on Monday night, according to AFL.com.au's Brownlow Medal predictor.

Asked why the Hawthorn trio had thrived in Sydney, McGlynn said: "The belief that the coaches give the players.

"They don't bring you up here just to stock up the list, you come up here to play a role.

"(Previous Swans coach) Paul Roos at the start and (current coach) John (Longmire) always give you opportunity and it's your chance to take it if you want it."

McGlynn still retains contact with a few Hawks, naming Brad Sewell as his closest mate.
