NATHAN Krakouer is back with Port Adelaide after being chosen with pick No.16 in the NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

Krakouer, 26, walked out on the Power in 2010 with just 40 games to his name and joined Gold Coast for its first AFL season.

Despite signing a three-year deal with the Suns, Krakouer quit at the end of 2011 citing personal reasons. He played 13 games for Gold Coast.

He returned to Alberton this year to join the Magpies in the SANFL and polled best and fairest votes in 12 of his 16 games.

Krakouer made Port's best players in its three-point Grand Final loss to Norwood for a three-goal effort at Adelaide Oval.

Having played under watchful eyes of the club's AFL coaches all season, Krakouer re-enters the AFL system with a sound knowledge of the Power's structures, game style and training standards.

He'll fly to Dubai with the rest of his teammates for a 10-day pre-season training camp on Friday.

The Power also re-drafted veteran defender Tom Logan.

Logan was promised a place as a rookie when he was delisted in October.

The 29-year-old is a hard-as-nails defender whose work ethic both on and off the field sets a terrific example for the club's younger players.

Winner of the reality TV series The Recruit Johann Wagner was Port's final selection.

The 24-year-old forward from Port Lincoln nominated the Power as his club of choice in the draft that took place during the final episode.

He'll join the club as a category B rookie.

Port Adelaide rookies:
Selection No. 16 – Nathan Krakouer (Port Adelaide Magpies)
Senior coach Ken Hinkley says: “We were pleased with the way Nathan turned around his fitness and the commitment he showed to the club on the track and on the field this year. It’s very rare that you can pick up a player of Nathan’s talent at pick 16 of the rookie draft.”

Selection No. 34– Tom Logan (Port Adelaide)
List manager Jason Cripps says: “Tommy is a great Port Adelaide person and we see this as the best way of keeping him involved. He has played an important role with assisting in developing our younger players."

Selection No. 51– Johann Wagner (Central District)
Recruiting manager Geoff Parker says: “He's got speed, he's strong overhead, he knows how to find the ball up forward and we think he's capable of playing the style of football that we play.”
