The Western Bulldogs, as one of the 18 clubs of the Australian Football League (AFL) and situated in the fastest growing region of Australia, are offering an exciting opportunity to become part of the Business Development team.

You will be an enthusiastic individual who possesses strong networking, leadership and communication skills with the drive to achieve sales targets.  Experience in a similar role is essential and you must be able to cope and thrive within the very competitive AFL environment.

You will spend most of your working day on the road, face to face with your clients identifying and establishing sales opportunities for the Club with a real focus on the west of Melbourne.  You will be required to manage your client base and deliver needs-based solutions from the range of Bulldogs products.

What does the role involve:

  • Cold calling for lead generation
  • Selling our key electronic properties including online & other digital assets
  • Selling Corporate suites and Match day dining into Western Bulldogs home games
  • Managing and building relationships with SME businesses in the Western Suburbs Selling advertising space within all Western Bulldogs publications including “The Bulldog”
  • Achieving set KPI’s in relation to new business sales, growing current accounts and achieving budgets
  • Growing our contacts database through networking, referrals and research
  • Contributing to the climate of active continuous improvement of processes, procedures and systems
  • Ensuring a high level of customer service is provided to all clients

 

It is expected you will possess:

  • A proven sales record with at least three years’ experience (other industries are encouraged to apply)
  • The ability to build effective working relationships in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Outstanding negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinking and marketing planning skills

 

A motor vehicle and a car licence is essential.  Tertiary qualifications in a marketing or business related discipline would be highly regarded.

This is definitely not a 9 to 5 job with assistance at key events and match days required during the season.
