WEST Coast has rested experienced trio Mitch Brown, Sam Butler and Will Schofield for Friday night's NAB Challenge clash against Carlton at Rushton Park in Mandurah.

All three defenders are fully fit, having played against the Indigenous All Stars last Friday, and they all participated in an extended training session on Thursday.

Exciting second-round draft pick Tom Lamb will play as one of the substitutes alongside Patrick McGinnity.

Blues forward Troy Menzel and youngsters Billy Gowers and Bradley Walsh have been omitted from the Carlton side.

Walsh misses out on the chance to play in front of his family and friends, having been drafted from Peel Thunder in the WAFL.

Dillon Viojo-Rainbow and Blaine Johnson are the two substitutes for the Blues.
