Enjoying a history that extends beyond 125 years, Hawthorn Football Club is a proud, successful and respected member of the Australian Football League, well placed for future success.  The Club is presently seeking to appoint a dynamic professional to write and manage online content. 

Reporting to the Digital Media Manger, the Online and Social Media writer will develop and update content for all the Club’s online channels (website and social media platforms). The role will be responsible for updating fans on breaking news, covering internal promotions and providing strategic advice on how to best engage our fans through digital communication. 

The primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Writing and developing all online editorial
  • Maintaining the Club’s website (CMS system)
  • Managing all social media accounts and content (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Reporting on website and social media trends and implement changes based on findings
  • Photography skills 

The successful candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, multimedia or digital media. They will have a good knowledge of the digital space, in particular social media, and will be willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. Ability to multitask is a must and an interest in sport is an advantage. 

The role is full time and will require some weekend work.
