Overview of Role

As the Australian Football League’s newest team, the Greater Western Sydney GIANTS are embarking on an exciting journey both on and off the field. Their mission is to build a club like no other that delivers the best family entertainment, wins premierships and enriches the lives of people in Western Sydney, Canberra and our broader communities.

Off field, the club’s exciting, innovative and fresh brand is growing as it engages with members, fans, the community and key stakeholders across Greater Western Sydney, Canberra and beyond. The GIANTS are based at their new, elite training and administration facility at Sydney Olympic Park.

As a key member of the Commercial team, you will be responsible for the relationship management, servicing, contractual fulfilment, expense management, and retention/renewal of a suite of the GIANTS high quality partners.

You will have a proven track record in stakeholder/relationship management, demonstrating attention to detail, strong negotiating abilities, strong communication skills, an inquisitive approach and appreciation of what other organisations are doing in similar fields, an ability to be innovative and creative to add value to sponsors while growing the sponsorship bottom line, of which you will be accountable for your respective accounts. You will be a proven people person with an ability to influence others cross-functionally to achieve a desired outcome.

You will also have a ‘can do’ approach to the role with strong word, excel, powerpoint, and outlook abilities. Design capabilities (such as InDesign and Photoshop) and an understanding of AFL are preferred.

Key Priorities for this role

Accountability

1. Deliver best in class servicing and account management for all GIANTS partners/sponsors. This includes:

a. Identifying partner objectives.
b. Identifying the key ways to bring those objectives to life via their contractual entitlements.
c. The preparation of individual partner servicing plans;
d. Leading regular WIPS with each partner;
e. Conducting formal quarterly reviews for each partner;
f. Providing each partner with a formal Full Year review within 45 days of the end of the Season.

2. Ensure that all partnership entitlements for each partner are delivered:

a. In accordance with each agreement;
b. In line with the budget and established yield; and
c. On time and in full.

3. Manage the cost centre for each allocated partner

a. Fulfill contract entitlements cost effectively without compromising quality.

4. Assist the Partnership Manager with strategy around partner upsells, leveraging opportunities and the sale of new assets.

a. Identify and understand key partner budgeting periods;
b. Develop best practice case studies to share with other partners; and
c. Identify potential new assets.

5. Relationship Building

a. Exhibit and apply a can do attitude in the role and be a team player;
b. Educate staff and players on partners’ requirements;
c. Develop relationships with internal staff and key stakeholders

The Corporate Partners Executive must have the following qualifications, knowledge and experience:

  • Relationship management (internal as well as key stakeholders externally)
  • Exceptional Time Management
  • Ability to upsell
  • Excellent computer skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisational & communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a harmonious environment with staff
