- Blues lose Marc Murphy, Bryce Gibbs and Chris Judd to injury
- Dogs make six changes, picking Will Minson after successful appeal
- Achilles injury puts Paddy Ryder out of Indigenous Round

CARLTON will face the Sydney Swans on Friday night without its three best midfielders, with captain Marc Murphy joining Chris Judd and Bryce Gibbs on the sidelines.

After a week in which the Blues saw coach Mick Malthouse sacked on Tuesday, they have made four enforced changes for the SCG clash.

Murphy travelled with the team but will miss with a calf, while Judd (knee), Gibbs (back) and Robbie Warnock (hip) are also out.

The Blues have regained Andrew Walker from a two-week knee injury and Lachie Henderson from a hamstring, while Andrew Carrazzo returns from a calf after being a late withdrawal last week against Geelong.

Caretaker coach John Barker has also named Nick Graham after a strong VFL showing, but Matthew Kreuzer remains out after his comeback from a foot injury through the VFL was derailed by soreness last week.

The Swans reserves had a bye last weekend but  John Longmire has still brought in untried small forward Dan Robinson for Jake Lloyd.

Robinson, a former NSW scholarship holder, is in his third season on the Swans list and has been consistent in the NEAFL this season.

Hawthorn gets back captain Luke Hodge from suspension and has named defender Daniel Howe for his first AFL game.

The Hawks have also named Taylor Duryea for Saturday's encounter with Gold Coast in Launceston, but have lost Grant Birchall to an ankle and Will Langford to a corked calf, and omitted Matt Suckling.

Mature-aged rookie Keegan Brooksby will become 38th player used by the Suns this season as their injury crisis continues.

The ruckman joins Steven May, who returns from suspension, Jack Martin and Andrew Boston as inclusions.

The Suns have lost Dion Prestia to a likely season-ending knee injury, and have dropped Aaron Hall, Andrew Raines and Jack Leslie.

Melbourne has finally regained Neville Jetta from a round four concussion and has also named Jack Viney, who fractured his fibula in round two, for Saturday's clash with Port Adelaide in Alice Springs.

The Demons continue to be without Chris Dawes (calf) and Dom Tyson (knee), while Aidan Riley and Ben Newton have been omitted.

The Power has been forced to make three changes with Kane Cornes (retired), Patrick Ryder (Achilles) and Jackson Trengove (ankle) all missing.

The Western Bulldogs have named Will Minson for the clash with Greater Western Sydney after successfully appealing his four-match VFL ban for intentional contact with an umpire.

Minson replaces the omitted Ayce Cordy and pairs with former Giant Tom Boyd, who has been picked despite coach Luke Beveridge suggesting he might be rested after just one handball against Melbourne.

Brett Goodes and Stewart Crameri are out with injury, while Michael Talia, Lachie Hunter and Ling Jong have also been dropped.

Jack Macrea, Jarrad Grant, Nathan Hrovat and Lukas Webb have been recalled, with former Geelong defender Joel Hamling to make his AFL debut.

The Giants have replaced the suspended Phil Davis with young defender Aidan Corr, while former No.1 draft selection Lachie Whitfield will return from illness. Zac Williams has been dropped.

Richmond has recalled Liam McBean for Saturday night's Dreamtime at the 'G clash despite the forward's minor thumb injury, replacing Ty Vickery, who will miss up to a fortnight with a knee.

Meanwhile, the Bombers have named an unchanged line up, with veteran defender Dustin Fletcher to celebrate his 400th game.

The Dons also named Paul Chapman despite his corked hamstring, but will be without David Zaharakis for a third week because of an ankle.

Adelaide has named Ricky Henderson for Saturday night's clash with Fremantle at Adelaide Oval after he was a late withdrawal last week with a back issue.

Sam Kerridge is out with the ankle injury that saw him subbed out last week.

The Dockers remain the envy of the competition with an almost non-existent injury list and will face the Crows unchanged.

The Brisbane Lions have lost another forward, with Dan McStay to miss Sunday's clash with St Kilda at the Gabba with a finger injury.

They have named Ryan Harwood, Rohan Bewick, Tom Cutler and Zac O'Brien as part of their extended squad.

The Saints, as expected, have regained captain Nick Riewoldt from the nasty concussion he sustained two weeks ago.

They have also named Jarryn Geary, Luke Delaney and Jack Lonie to return, but lost Sam Fisher to a hamstring.

Collingwood has regained Alan Toovey from a knee injury and recalled Sam Dwyer. Defender Jonathon Marsh is named for a potential AFL debut.

The Kangaroos have named Majak Daw for his first game for the year after he kicked three goals in the VFL last week.

Daw comes in with captain Andrew Swallow, who still has to pass a fitness test to play after breaking his thumb in round seven, Scott McMahon, Ben Brown and Kayne Turner.

Ben Jacobs and Mason Wood have been omitted.

West Coast has named tall defender Tom Barrass as part of the expanded squad to take on Geelong at Domain Stadium on Sunday for a possible debut.

He joins Patrick McGinnity, Scott Lycett and Brant Colledge as inclusions, with the suspended Elliot Yeo the Eagles' only omission to this stage.

Rookie-listed former basketballer Michael Luxford has been named in the Cats squad and is also chance to debut, despite having never played organised football before he joined the Cats in late 2013.

Jake Kolodjashnij has also been picked for a possible debut after a solid battle with Port Melbourne forward Jordan Lisle last week, while former Demon Sam Blease has been recalled.
