Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the West Coast Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as intentional conduct with low impact to the body. Other Matters Assessed:
The match day report laid against the Adelaide Crows’ Taylor Walker for striking Carlton’s Cameron Wood from the first quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. It was the view of the panel the force used was below that required for a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
Contact between Essendon’s Ben Howlett and the Geelong Cats’ Steve Johnson from the first quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The panel said Howlett stepped into the path of Johnson to block his movement down the ground. Johnson went to ground briefly. It was the view of the panel the force used was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.
