IN A RARE positive day on the injury front for the Brisbane Lions, midfielder Dayne Beams and wingman Nick Robertson have both escaped serious injury.

Beams should be free to play Adelaide on Saturday after being cleared of a shoulder concern, while Robertson will miss just two weeks with a strained AC joint.

Robertson was taken off in great pain during the first quarter of Saturday night's loss against the Western Bulldogs, but Monday's scan results showed good news.

"No structure damage. Grade 2 strain on the AC joint," Robertson tweeted. "No surgery needed. Will miss 2 weeks of footy."

The Lions are waiting for final confirmation from physios on Beams' niggle, but at this stage they are not overly concerned.

After a devastating first half of the season with injuries, the Lions should slowly get some experience back in coming weeks.

Daniel Merrett (hamstring) is expected to return from a 12-week absence in the NEAFL at the weekend, with skipper Tom Rockliff (ribs) due back the week after.
