Match cancelled: What does it mean?

FOOTY supporters have been invited to visit Adelaide Oval on Sunday to recognise late Crows coach Phil Walsh, who tragically lost his life on Friday.

The scheduled Crows versus Geelong game has been cancelled by the AFL out of respect for Walsh and the club, but fans can attend Adelaide Oval with gates open at 2.30pm.

A siren will sound at 2.50pm local time, the same time the match was planned to begin, and those attending can then have a kick on the ground, before the stadium closes its doors at 4pm.

It is not known if the Crows' players or staff will be at the ground, but no doubt there will be plenty of supporters keen to pay their respects to Walsh, who was in his first year of the job.

The Crows and the Cats have been awarded two premiership points for the match.
