Women's mini-draft: The final picks revealed

FORMER Matildas goalkeeper Brianna Davey has been selected as the No.1 draft pick in the first official AFL women's mini-draft.

Former No.1 pick Daisy Pearce joined AFL Victoria Female Football Development Manager Chyloe Kurdas and AFL.com.au's Jennifer Phelan to announce the 10 selections, ahead of the second women's exhibition game on August 16.

You can listen below to the full mini-draft, find out more about Davey's selection and all 10 picks, and hear from both team's coaches.

As recently as May, Davey, who joins the Bulldogs, was part of the Matildas soccer squad as a goalkeeper.

After missing out on selection for the World Cup, she stayed behind in Victoria, where she has been playing with St Kilda in the Victorian Women's Football League.

Meanwhile, the Demons opted for two ruck options – South Fremantle's Sabrina Frederick-Traub and Diamond Creek's Tiarna Ernst – with tall Danielle Goding out of the team that won by eight points in May.

The second women's exhibition game will be held as the curtain-raiser to the round 20 Western Bulldogs-Melbourne AFL match, and televised live on Channel 7 and 7Mate.
