The South Australian Community Football League Inc (SACFL) is the organisation authorised via a License Agreement with the South Australian National Football League, to provide resources and support to Affiliated Leagues and Clubs (excluding SANFL Clubs) to ensure the sport of football is conducted within the rules and regulations and to ensure Leagues and Clubs are sustainable.   The SACFL is an independent organisation with a board of 10 Directors.  The office is located at Adelaide Oval. 

MANAGER – COMMUNITY FOOTBALL 

The Role
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced and talented individual to join the League and lead Community Football’s operations team as it delivers on the strategic direction of the Community Football Board.

This position requires a strong emphasis on stakeholder management, building effective relationships and networks within Community Football. The Manager will lead Community Football strategy and execution, delivering programs and services to support sustainable development of Community Leagues and Clubs and increase the capabilities of Community Football to grow Australian Football at grass roots level. 

The Candidate
It is expected that candidates will demonstrate a successful leadership and management background delivering effective services to members or stakeholders.  

Key selection criteria also requires:

  • Understanding of and empathy with the issues confronting Community Football, including factors that may influence Community football environments
  • Sound knowledge of and experience within the Australian Football industry or similar sporting organisation
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and implementation capability
  • Effective overall stakeholder engagement with strong communication and management skills
  • People management and development, working effectively in a team environment 

A business management degree or relevant tertiary qualification would be highly regarded.
