Enjoying a history that extends beyond 125 years, Hawthorn Football Club is a proud, successful and respected member of the Australian Football League, well placed for future success. The Club is currently looking to appoint an innovative graphic designer to join the Marketing Team.

You’ll work as part of a passionate and highly creative team, and will be responsible for owning of the Hawthorn brand artistically, ensuring that all design is on-brand and meticulously presented.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will assist in the conceptual development, design and production in relation to all marketing material. You’ll be a dynamic and proven designer with a keen eye for detail and pride in your finished product.

Other aspects of the role will involve:

-       Managing and prioritising the design workflow

-       Working with an external agency to manage larger projects and overflow

-       Assisting with production, including supplier sourcing, distribution of materials and quality control

-       Maintaining the club’s graphic assets

Your understanding of the design process will be demonstrated with experience in a professional design environment, either agency or in-house. You’ll also have a demonstrable interest in the sporting sector, along with:

-       Strong creative folio demonstrating innovative, conceptual thinking, including logo development, type and layout skills

-       The ability to interpret briefs and develop unique results

-       Thorough knowledge of the complete Adobe Suite

-       Versatility to work across a range of mediums, including identity, print and digital

-       Tertiary qualification in graphic design, visual communication or related discipline

The role will suit a designer who is ideas driven, with strong conceptual skills and a natural ability to create striking work across all mediums. You will have excellent attention to detail, an ability to work to tight deadlines and will be comfortable working autonomously.

This is a newly created position on a 12 month contract. For the right candidate, we offer a competitive salary package, negotiable depending on experience.
