Passionate about AFL? We are currently recruiting for a part time trainee Development Officer to join the team at AFL Queensland, Bundaberg.

ABOUT THE ROLE

AFL SportsReady currently has a part time (minimum 15 hours per week) position available for someone wanting to pursue a career in the sport industry. 

The successful applicant will be legally employed by AFL SportsReady, but will work on-site with AFL Queensland, Bundaberg and receive an accredited Certificate III Sport and Recreation qualification (on successful completion).

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the purpose of this role will be to support the development and help grow participation of AFL around the Wide Bay/Bundaberg region through the delivery of quality programs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with implementing AFL programs to gain maximum participation levels at AFL Auskick, School and Junior club level
  • Liaising with Community  Clubs, Physical Education Teachers & AFL School Ambassadors
  • Assist with Community Football
  • Assist with establishing campaigns to help recruit participants into Junior club football
  • Conduct AFL Auskick Clinics and School Programs
  • Resource management
  • Data entry into AFL Auskick Participant Database System
  • Conduct AFL Auskick promotions
  • Conduct promotional activities
  • Organisation of competitions within the region
  • Assist with the delivery of the AFL Sport Education program into selected schools within the region.

  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours from time to time such as evenings and weekends.
  • Drivers Licence and accessible car

Preferred

  • Working with Children Check
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Sound knowledge of AFL or other relevant sporting environment
  • Good understanding of the sport network in the region

People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver with a knowledge of AFL.
