The South Australian National Football League (SANFL) is the governing body for Australian Football in South Australia and our mission is to protect, lead, manage and deliver the promotion and development of Australian Football for the people of South Australia.

The SANFL Role

Reporting to the General Manager Football, the Integrity Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining a sub-elite football integrity framework with a focus on gambling, performance enhancing drugs, illicit drug use and player payment regulations.

The Integrity Officer will develop and ensure that the framework considers the sports regulatory environment and legislative requirements with the development of clearly articulated policy positions, procedures, sanctions, and the roles and responsibilities of all key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities will also include:

  • Assess threats identified in the framework against current systems of governance, oversight and finance management
  • Investigate issues that may be in breach of the regulatory and integrity framework
  • Develop and deliver education and awareness programs tailored to suit stakeholders
  • Provide training and deliver training modules to key decision makers within SA Football on good governance practices.

This role represents a real opportunity to head a new area empowered to drive reform, compliance and maintain exceptional standards.

The successful applicant will also be engaged by the Australian Football League (AFL) in a consultancy role overseeing the following matters on behalf of the AFL within South Australia:

• Represent the AFL and its interests in Security & Emergency Management at all 22 AFL games scheduled in South Australia;
• In line with the AFL rules conduct Match Day Restricted Area (MDRA) audits of both clubs at all 22 AFL games scheduled in South Australia;
• Assist the AFL on an as needs basis with investigations across of a range of subject matters relating to the integrity of the AFL competition;

The Candidate

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual who can demonstrate a range of professional and interpersonal skills at a senior level and has evidence of the following competencies:

• Experience in the conduct of investigations;
• Proven experience in Governance;
• Excellent analytical ability and organisational skills;
• A Bachelor Degree in Law or similar; or Significant Investigation experience (e.g. CIB, or Specialist Investigator)
