COLLINGWOOD will have two female board members in 2016, with the Pies appointing one of Australia's leading chief executives, Christine Holgate, to their ranks.

Holgate is head of Australian vitamin company Blackmores, and in 2015 was named chief executive officer of the year by both CEO Magazine and the CEO Institute.

She joins winter Olympic and world champion aerial skier Alisa Camplin on the Magpies' board, replacing retiring vice-president and club pioneer Dr Jack Kennedy.

British-born Holgate formed a relationship with Collingwood 13 years ago when she moved to Melbourne.

"Not only is Christine one of the highest credentialed CEOs in the country, she is a dyed-in-the-wool Collingwood supporter," president Eddie McGuire said.

Holgate said she was excited to join one of the AFL's powerhouse clubs.

"I first met Collingwood in 2003 just a couple of months after coming to Australia. Collingwood just gave me a huge sense of community and family," she said.

"I hope I bring to the board a different perspective, my background and skills are quite different. I run a big people company, so I hope to be able to bring some of those skills as well as being someone who is passionate about the club and someone really committed to the development of women."
