FREMANTLE ruckman Aaron Sandilands has been left of the Dockers side to face Adelaide at Sounness Park in Mount Barker on Sunday.

Sandilands travelled with the squad but was one of the Dockers' three late withdrawals.

Sandilands is unavailable for round one against the Western Bulldogs after he was suspended for rough conduct during the Dockers' first NAB Challenge match against Richmond last week.

Matt de Boer and Hayden Crozier have also been left out of the Dockers side. Crozier did not play in the Dockers' first NAB Challenge match while de Boer only played limited game time against the Tigers.

The Crows have left out new recruits Curtly Hampton and Luke Lowden along with youngster Harrison Wigg.

Hampton did not travel with the squad and instead played in a SANFL trial game in Adelaide on Saturday.

Essendon will trial four of its top-up players in Sunday's NAB Challenge clash after naming its final team to face Carlton.

The Bombers selected Ryan Crowley, Jonathan Simpkin, Sam Grimley and Sam Michael for their opening pre-season match, leaving the remaining six on the sidelines.

Their three omissions were defender Mark Baguley, midfielder Adam Cooney and versatile youngster Jayden Laverde.

Carlton has omitted recruit Matthew Wright, defender Jesse Glass-McCasker and American former basketballer Matt Korcheck.

Sunday's match will see Eleni Glouftsis make history when she becomes the first female field umpire to adjudicate an official AFL match.
