COMMUNITY HEALTH PARTNERSHIPS OFFICER

 SpiritWest Foundation (SWF) is the community arm of the Western Bulldogs with a long proud history of delivering a range of social programs to those in need throughout the Western suburbs of Melbourne. Recently they have employed an Executive Manager who, together with the SWF Board, is very keen to grow the organisation further and deliver an expanded range of programs. The Health and Wellbeing Team provide a range of activities and services with an overall aim of building healthy, inclusive communities. The Community Health Partnerships Officer will report to the Community Health and Wellbeing Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Developing constructive working relationships and community engagement with key stakeholders to strengthen and grow community health programs, groups and networks;
  • Establishing and maintaining formal communication and coordination with government agencies, service providers, community organisations, businesses and community members;
  • Maximising partner performance and producing stronger results necessary to support the growth of all community health programs;
  • Providing support to local and regional community groups and organisations;
  • Facilitating and/or participate in a range of interagency and partnership networks; and
  • Identifying potential new sources of program funding 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in acquiring and maintaining key program stakeholders
  • The ability to build relationships with prospective partners.
  • Basic understanding in public health principles (E.g. General physical health and mental health)
  • Highly developed communication and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience in program/project development & implementation
  • Demonstrated experience of stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, meet tight time frames, and to work with limited supervision
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills – including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
  • Sound public speaking and formal presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & written skills]
  • Time management
  • Business/proposal writing
