ADELAIDE captain Taylor Walker is in doubt for Sunday's clash with Essendon, but key defender Daniel Talia is expected to take his spot in the side.

Talia sat out the last quarter of the Crows' loss to Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday night with a corked hip.

Walker was also on the bench with an ankle injury and will have scans this week.

"Taylor came off with an ankle injury late in the game. Obviously, we didn’t want to take any risks," Adelaide general manager of high performance Brett Burton told afc.com.au on Monday.

"For precautionary reasons, Taylor was in a moon boot yesterday.

''We’ll get some scans on that and have further information in the next few days.

"We’ll be able to make a call on that later in the week."

The Crows have more confidence in Talia's chances of facing the Bombers.

"We’ll go through the normal process of getting him (Talia) moving this week, and with the eight-day break we expect him to be available," Burton said.
