WESTERN Bulldogs father-son hopeful Michael Romero and ruck smokey Oscar McInerney are among the 100 players invited to test at state NAB AFL Draft Combines later this year.
Romero, the son of former Dogs midfielder Jose, has played two games for Footscray's VFL side this season after several games with the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup.
The small forward/on-baller did not get enough nominations from club recruiters to test at the national draft screening at Etihad Stadium in October, but will still be able to show his wares to scouts at the state level testing day.
McInernery has captured the attention of clubs, despite playing in Casey Scorpions' development league side for the majority of the season.
Many clubs have kept track of his progress with this year's batch of under-18 ruckmen largely struggling to show they will be in contention for spots at November's national draft.
There are some other familiar names in the list of players set to test at state combines, including Zach Guthrie (younger brother of Geelong's Cameron) and Corey Lyons (younger brother of Adelaide's Jarryd).
Willie Rioli's improved fitness and impressive performances at senior level in the SANFL have also seen him selected for another opportunity to test well.
Rioli has been overlooked in three drafts but has some strong bloodlines being the cousin of Hawthorn star Cyril Rioli.
