ADELAIDE defender Brodie Smith is in doubt for Friday night's clash against West Coast with concussion.

Smith was concussed in the second quarter of Saturday night's 15-point win over Port Adelaide in Showdown 41.

The 2014 All Australian fell backwards in the marking contest and his head struck the boot of Power forward Aaron Young.

Smith was concussed in two separate incidents last year, but Adelaide's general manager of high performance Brett Burton told AFC.com.au that Smith was in good spirits.

"Brodie's going through the normal concussion protocol at the moment and will do so for the rest of the week," Burton said.

"The good signs were that he was up and about after the game feeling fairly good.

"We'll continue to assess him as the week goes on and make a call (on his availability) later in the week."

Wingman Paul Seedsman is also listed as a 'test' as he recovers from a nasty corked buttock.

Seedsman, who has missed the past two matches, sustained the injury in Adelaide's round 20 win over the Brisbane Lions.

"Seeds is struggling a little bit with that corked buttock. He's had a fair bit of bleeding in the area, so we're just waiting for that to drain," Burton said.

"He'll be assessed during the week and we'll confirm (his availability) later in the week."
