FIRE alarms went off at Adelaide's club headquarters, but the Crows are remaining calm ahead of a sudden-death finals campaign.

The Crows returned to training on Monday as they start preparations for their elimination final with North Melbourne at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, September 10.

Players and staff were forced to evacuate their West Lakes headquarters when a fire alarm was triggered before being allowed to get back to business after getting the all clear from the fire brigade.

For the players and coaching staff, that involves breaking down last Friday night's costly 29-point loss to West Coast that saw the Crows blow a golden chance at a top-two spot and a home qualifying final.

Crows midfielder Richard Douglas said players were keen on putting that performance behind them.

"I couldn't question the boys' effort, we just got outplayed in a few key areas," Douglas said.

"If you're five or 10 per cent off against quality sides, you're going to get found out and the Eagles certainly exposed us in a few areas.

"The good thing is we're still in the hunt and we'll put something in place against the other seven teams.

"We believe our best footy is good enough."

The Crows will have a light training schedule this week to cope with having a 15-day break between games.

They will train on Wednesday before being given four days off.

"It's an interesting one so we don't know how it's going to go," Douglas said.

"It's a chance to physically freshen up so we're looking forward to that and moving on emotionally as quick as we can.

"A new season starts now and that's really exciting."

One positive for the Crows was having six players named in the preliminary 40-man All Australian squad.

It was the most for any team in the competition.

Full-back Daniel Talia (2014) and small forward Eddie Betts (2015) are in the mix for their second All Australian honour, while midfield general Rory Sloane, defender Rory Laird and forwards Josh Jenkins and Tom Lynch are in contention to make the team for the first time.

"It's fantastic for those guys and our footy club," Douglas said.

"They've all had fantastic seasons and hopefully they can make the 22.

"It's great to have the most in the AFL and says a lot about our group and how good a season we've had as a team."
