FOOTY fans are on the verge of experiencing the AFL like never before.

Thanks to the world of virtual reality, supporters can feel the excitement of matches, plus special events like the Brownlow Medal, AFL Grand Final Parade and All Australian awards alongside the game's elite players.

For the first time, fans can immerse themselves in the pre-game warm-up in the rooms, feel the thrill of running through the banner alongside the game's stars and stand shoulder to shoulder with their heroes as they sing the team song after a win.

Clubs including 2016 finalists North Melbourne, Adelaide and West Coast feature in 360-degree match experiences while supporters can also get an all-new virtual reality look at the EJ Whitten Legends game and popular AFL Women's match.

Fans with a Samsung Gear VR headset and compatible Samsung device (Note 5, S6 and S7) can download the app for free via the Samsung Oculus Store and dive into the virtual reality world.

Once inside the online Oculus Store, fans can view the full raft of experiences from sports and activities across the world in the specially created Telstra Lounge Experience.

There will also be an opportunity for September Club patrons to experience football in virtual reality at the Grand Final on Saturday.
