TOM Nicholls put to rest any suggestion he may leave Gold Coast by signing a contract extension with the club.

As reported by AFL.com.au last month, the extension is believed to be two years and would keep the ruckman at the Suns until the end of 2018, when he would become a free agent.

The 24-year-old was recruited by Gold Coast as a 17-year-old access selection in 2010 and said he couldn't see himself playing anywhere else.

"We've had a challenging year but have built even more resilience, chemistry and respect amongst the players and coaches," he said.

"The boys are really keen to show the city what we're capable of.

"The coaches and the leadership group have been awesome in terms of culture and giving the guys a license to lead."

Young defender Jack Leslie has also extended his stay at the Suns.

Leslie, taken with pick No.20 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, has played six games in his two seasons.

"I couldn’t be happier to be continuing my AFL career in Queensland and I can't wait to get back into it," he said.
