• Check out the latest Fantasy reveals

THE REBUILDING phase has begun. After significant moves over the trade period and some of their stars returning from injuries, next year should be slightly more positive for Dockers fans and Fantasy fans alike.

Lachie Neale (MID, $671,000) was dominant last year, raising his Fantasy game to new heights. He averaged 111, a huge 10-point improvement from the year before. He thrived in the absence of Nat Fyfe, whereas some of his teammates like David Mundy (MID, $538,000) found the going tougher.

Mundy dropped his Fantasy output by 17 points from his average of 106 in 2015. He is once again listed as a midfielder, but with Fyfe back on the park, his role may change and I wouldn’t be surprised if he adds 'DEF' to his name over the course of the season.

After winning the Brownlow Medal in 2015 with a Fantasy average of 105, Nat Fyfe (MID, $595,000) is back and will be very popular amongst Fantasy coaches. Priced at just 98.6, Fyfe has been hitting the track hard already this year after spending time getting in shape at a training block in Los Angles.

After two years averaging 87 and 88, Aaron Sandilands (RUC, $450,000) is cheap in 2017 after an interrupted season. Sandilands managed just five games in 2016 and presents as great value if he’s fit and ready to go at the start of round one. Priced at an average of 75, there is plenty of upside for the big man and he could be a potential sleeper in many drafts.

Bradley Hill (FWD/MID, $417,000) heads west to join his brother Stephen. During his time with Hawthorn, Brad did show glimpses of his Fantasy potential. He averaged 74 in 2015 and racked up 31 possessions in round 18 this year for a season-high 114 points. Listed as a forward, the ex-Hawk may spend some time with his brother running up the ground. Although I’m not overly confident he can produced huge numbers, if he does have a Fantasy-friendly role, then he is one to keep an eye on.

Who will fill the large shoes that have been left behind by Matthew Pavlich? Former Geelong forward Shane Kersten (FWD, $375,000) has put his hand up, but for Fantasy value you can’t look too far past ex-Giant Cam McCarthy (FWD, $211,000).

McCarthy has been training with the Dockers since October and so far he has impressed his teammates. He averaged just 50 in his final year with the Giants, but started that season well, averaging 69 over the first eight games.

He’s priced cheaper than some rookies and must be considered as a bench option in your team.

After averaging 80 for Coburg this year, Luke Ryan (DEF, $150,000) was the only mature-aged player to be invited to the national combine. At the age of 20, Ryan was awarded the VFL’s best young player award and he’s one of the best cheap options in the backline.

Harley Bennell (FWD/MID, $388,000) is an interesting one. If he is fully fit and firing, then he is a 'must have' when you start to build your team.

Before moving to the Dockers, Bennell averaged 92 in his final season with the Suns. After missing the entire 2016 season, he is now priced ripe for the picking at an average of less than 65.

However, Bennell has received another injury setback and is destined to travel to Munich to consult a German medical specialist.

Although the club remains confident Bennell is on track to play in round one, he’s one that needs to be monitored very closely before you commit to selecting him in your team.

The obvious answer here is Zac Dawson (DEF, $199,000). After failing to average 50 in the last five years, poor old Zac’s lock down roles prevent him from scoring anything respectable.

Dawson does come cheap though, and although some may believe he’s a solid bench option, I’ll remind those people that he scored less than 30 on ten occasions last year.

Dawson is a good defender but Fantasy football is not his game. Please, don’t even do it as a joke.
