ST KILDA and the Western Bulldogs will both be without veteran forwards for Saturday's clash at Etihad Stadium, with Nick Riewoldt out with a knee injury and Travis Cloke dropped for the crunch game.

The Bulldogs have continued a cut-throat approach at selection, with forward Jack Redpath and Lukas Webb both dropped along with Cloke to make way for Jake Stringer, Shane Biggs and first-year ruckman Tim English.

The Saints have made two changes, recalling Shane Savage and Darren Minchington, with Luke Dunstan omitted for the clash against the reigning premiers.

In an intriguing night of selections, Gary Ablett has been left out with a shoulder injury, Carlton has lost Dale Thomas following concussion in round nine, and Drew Petrie has been named for the Eagles as Adam Simpson swings the axe.

Sydney has made one change for Friday night's clash against Hawthorn, with Oliver Florent replacing injured the Harry Cunningham (foot).

The Hawks have made three changes following their round nine loss to Collingwood, with Will Langford, Billy Hartung and Kurt Heatherley all omitted.

Kaiden Brand has been recalled, with tall wingman Dallas Willsmore and rookie James Cousins both named to make their debut.

Ablett will miss his first game for the season after returning from China with a shoulder injury, with Keegan Brooksby and Jack Bowes both omitted for the Suns' clash against Melbourne in Darwin on Saturday. 

While losing their dual Brownlow medallist, the Suns will benefit from the returns of Pearce Hanley and David Swallow, with No.9 draft pick Will Brodie also called on to make his debut.

Melbourne has made three changes, with Christian Salem suspended for one match and Dean Kent and Sam Weiderman both omitted. Jake Melksham, Alex Neal-Bullen and James Harmes have all been recalled.

Richmond has continued to rotate its young tall forwards in search of an answer in attack, replacing Ivan Soldo with Todd Elton for Saturday night's Dreamtime at the 'G game at the MCG. Recruit Josh Caddy returns from a groin injury, while inside midfielder Anthony Miles has been dropped. 

Essendon has made just one change, with ruckman Tom Bellchambers replacing big man Matthew Leuenberger, who will miss with illness.

Adelaide has recalled midfielder David Mackay and tall forward Josh Jenkins after just one match on the sidelines ahead of Saturday night's clash against Fremantle at Adelaide Oval.

The Crows will be without Curtly Hampton (ankle), while first-year midfielder Jordan Gallucci has been omitted after making his debut in round nine.

Fremantle has lost Aaron Sandilands (hamstring) and Ed Langdon (knee) to injury, calling on Jon Griffin and Darcy Tucker and breaking the League record for most indigenous players in a line-up (eight).   

Crosstown rival West Coast has swung the axe following its round-nine loss to Essendon, dropping four players for Sunday's clash against GWS and losing Sharrod Wellingham to an ankle injury. 

Jack Redden, Fraser McInnes, Tom Barrass and Kurt Mutimer have all been dropped, and there could be more changes for the clash at Domain Stadium, with eight additions to the 25-man squad.

Inclusions Petrie, Will Schofield and Josh Hill have been named in the starting team, while Eric Mackenzie, Mark Hutchings, Lewis Jetta, Malcolm Karpany and Jackson Nelson are on the seven-man bench.

The Giants have lost forwards Steve Johnson (knee) and Rory Lobb (groin) to injuries, with Tim Mohr, Dawson Simpson, Harrison Himmelberg, Isaac Cumming and Matt Kennedy all included and named on the extended bench.  

Collingwood will make at least two changes for Sunday's clash against the Brisbane Lions at the MCG, with midfielder James Aish to miss with a cheekbone injury and rookie defender Henry Schade dropped. 

Matt Scharenberg will play his first game since 2015 after being named in the starting 18, with fellow inclusions Tim Broomhead, Jackson Ramsay, Ben Crocker and Mason Cox on the extended bench.

The Lions will make at least four changes, with Josh Walker, Tom Bell and Ryan Harwood omitted and Claye Beams (hamstring) injured.

Coming into the starting 18 are Tom Cutler and Dan McStay, with fellow inclusions Ryan Bastinac, Rhys Mathieson, Rohan Bewick, Archie Smith and Charlie Cox on the extended bench.

Carlton has lost Thomas and Sam Rowe (knee) to injury ahead of Sunday's clash against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium, with their replacements to come from Simon White, Billie Smedts, Liam Sumner, Andrew Phillips and Harrison Macreadie who have come into the 25-man squad.

The Kangaroos have made no changes at this stage, naming Jed Anderson, Trent Dumont and Braydon Preuss in their extended squad.
