LANCE Franklin was reported for rough conduct during Sydney's big clash with Richmond at the MCG on Saturday.

With his team trailing heavily in the second quarter, the Swans superstar competed in an aerial contest and followed up the loose ball at ground level when he collected Tigers midfielder Connor Menadue high with a bump.

Menadue had his head over the ball when Franklin made strong contact, which sent the stunned Tiger reeling onto his back.

The incident sparked a melee in which Franklin slung opponent Alex Rance to the ground and also took on Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt.
