A CROOK Tom Lynch has been ruled out of Adelaide's clash with Carlton at the MCG on Saturday.

"Unfortunately Tommy Lynch is going to be out, he's picked up a viral infection," Crows coach Don Pyke told reporters on Wednesday.

"We're doing some tests at the moment to work out what that is, but the indication from the doctor is he's not going to be available this week.

"We'll see how the results come up and go from there."

Lynch's absence opens the door for Mitch McGovern to return against the Blues at the MCG on Saturday for his first game since round three.

McGovern has played the past couple of weeks in the SANFL in his comeback from a hamstring tendon injury.

Speedy forward Charlie Cameron could join Lynch on the sidelines after he didn't take part in Wednesday morning's training session at Football Park.

Cameron injured his wrist in last Thursday night's 14-point loss to Hawthorn.

"Charlie's in some doubt," Pyke said.

"He was unable to train this morning, he's got that wrist injury.

"We'll assess how that looks with Charlie and if he's not right, he won't play.

"He's got some strain in there, it's a matter of how functional that will be and how comfortable he is with that."

But Pyke said there were some "really positive" signs from defender Luke Brown in his recovery from an ankle injury.

Winger Wayne Milera trained with the main group and looks to have overcome a minor knee injury.
