WHILE Bryce Gibbs was being wrapped in bacon last Sunday, courtesy of a rare Tom Rockliff tag, Dayne Beams was getting back to his Fantasy best with a score of 142.

Rory Sloane was similarly inspired last Friday night with a monster 134 against the Cats, after a flat run of Fantasy form that saw him top the ton just once in his last six games.

And Liam Picken (MID/FWD, $400,000) was torching the Suns in Cairns with six goals and 111 points.

In most Fantasy Classic leagues, this is the last round before finals, and these are the kinds of high scores from cheap but high-quality players that can push your season deep into August.

If your eighth-most expensive midfielder or sixth-most expensive backman gets over 90 each week for the next month, you can expect to make a serious charge for the Fantasy flag.

Here are the under-priced guns of the competition projected to deliver strong scores over the next few rounds.

All, bar the out-of-favour Todd Goldstein, are worth considering.

Players under $500,000 projected to average 90+ in the next three rounds

  1. Dayne Beams, (MID, $486,000) – projected 97.7

Get 'em in

Jay Kennedy-Harris, Melbourne (FWD, $265,000): Getting some midfield time, so assuming he keeps his spot, he's worth your last forward position on the field.

Heath Shaw, GWS (DEF, $461,000): Averages 116.8 against the Dockers, and this is a match in which the Giants could inflict some serious pain. Expect Heath to cash in.

Jack Ziebell, North Melbourne (MID, $524,000): A cold day in Tassie, a pitched battle against Jack Viney and the Demons – these are the kinds of games the Roos' skipper thrives on. Midfield smoky.

Bye for now

Michael Walters, Fremantle (FWD/MID, $533,000): Sonny's season looks over after a PCL injury against the Hawks. Trade for Isaac Heeney.

Mark Blicavs, Geelong (MID, $498,000): The versatile Cat won't play again this Fantasy season so can be swapped for Dayne Beams.

Koby Stevens, St Kilda (MID/FWD, $500,000): The former Bulldog is struggling just like the Saints and a break-even of 132 this week means he must be moved on.
