STAR Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt is expected to miss only Saturday night's game against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium after suffering a cut to the cornea in his right eye.

Riewoldt, 28, suffered bleeding at the back of his eye when he copped a hit at training earlier this week.

The Tigers thought there was a slim chance Riewoldt might be fit to face the Suns, and at this stage he should be right to line up against Hawthorn on Sunday week at the MCG.

Riewoldt's long streak of 86 consecutive matches will come to an end. North Melbourne's Sam Gibson has the longest unbroken run of current players, with 125.

Midfielder Dion Prestia is not fit to take on his former side for the first time after struggling with knee and calf concerns while Jayden Short was dropped.

Bachar Houli returns from his four-week suspension for striking Carlton's Jed Lamb and inside midfielder Anthony Miles overcame a minor knee strain to be named, while Shai Bolton was recalled.
