RECALLED Port Adelaide forward Aaron Young will be injected into the Power's onball brigade for Saturday's encounter with St Kilda at Adelaide Oval.

Dropped twice this season, the 24-year-old returns to the side to replace the injured Chad Wingard, who will miss up to a month with a high ankle sprain.

Young booted 37 goals for the Power last year as a specialist forward, but star Robbie Gray has taken over that role this season.

Young's outstanding form in the SANFL, where he spends most of the time in the midfield, has earned him another chance in the senior side.

"We're bringing him in to allow him to play the position that is best suited, and that's to play a little bit more midfield than he has in the past," Power coach Ken Hinkley said.

"Robbie's probably filled the deeper forward line position on him.

"This week, we think we've given Aaron the best opportunity to play at the level he plays at in the SANFL."

Gray could also spend more time on the ball after having a huge influence in third quarter of last weekend's 23-point loss to Melbourne.

The three-time Power club champion had 10 contested possessions, five clearances and four inside 50s.

"We'll see how the game's unfolding and see what we need," Hinkley said.

"For Robbie, if that's in the forward line, we're happy to leave him in the forward line.

"We think we've got some flexibility there."

Young is one of four changes to the Power's side in the wake of the loss to the Demons.

Experienced defenders Jack Hombsch and Jasper Pittard strengthen the backline, while winger Karl Amon is back for his first senior game since suffering a knee injury.

"Jack and Jasper make us a stronger team, and Aaron the same, his form in the AFL over the past 18 months has been really strong, and Karl is a big part of future for us," Hinkley said.

Youngsters Logan Austin, Dan Houston and Joe Atley have been omitted.

The fifth-placed Power are strong favourites to record their sixth-straight victory against the Saints, who will be without veterans Nick Riewoldt and Leigh Montagna.

"We understand their ability, they've been a really damaging side," Hinkley said.

"We saw them only three weeks ago destroy Richmond, and Richmond came over and beat us.

"We know 'Richo' (Saints coach Alan Richardson) pretty well and it will be a fierce St Kilda side that turns up."
