ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Female Talent Coordinator TAC Cup role is a casual position reporting to the TAC Cup Talent Manager for the specific TAC Cup club. This role is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the TAC Cup Girls Program, and any associated underage academy programs. 

Please note employment in this position is subject to possessing a valid ‘working with children’ check. The AFL has extensive procedures and checks in place to protect children and young people in our organisation. 

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF 

  • Lead and manage region staff so that the recruitment, retention and performance of staff all contribute positively to the conduct of the TAC Cup Girls Program, and any associated underage academy programs.  
  • Undertake marketing and promotion of regional program to generate interest, attract potential talent and public awareness i.e. ‘AFL Talent Search’ days  
  • Review and amend TAC Cup Girls Program, and any associated underage academy programs when required  
  • Provide administrative support to the TAC Cup Girls Program, and any associated underage academy programs including; player notices, letters, agendas, general club correspondence, Sponsor flyers, training attendances and fitness results 
  • Maintain and update Player Databases (Access) and prepare Squad lists  
  • Assist Team Managers in preparing jumpers, team lists and name magnets for all squad trial games  
  • Assist with talent identification and management and recruitment of talented players 
  • Assist the TAC Cup Region Talent Manager to undertake to provide welfare support to players and their families on an as needs basis  
  • Build relationships with local clubs and coaches etc and implement education programs  

Core Competencies 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Good attention to detail 
  • Experience and skills in developing & conducting presentations, training courses, etc. 
  • Computer literacy to a high level, include Word Processing, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft applications, Website Editing and data entry skills. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, with excellent time management skills and prioritizing skills. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to manage and deliver required budget outcomes. 
  • Solid understanding of the environment of Community Football and Netball Clubs. 
  • Current Victorian Drivers license and Working With Children Check 
  • An enthusiastic and positive outlook. 

 

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER 

  • Degree or equivalent experience in sports management 
  • Substantial knowledge on TAC Cup development programs 
  • Experience in talent identification and development 
  • A genuine interest in football, with a desire to lead growth and further development of the TAC Cup Region.
