Indicative draft order: Keep up to date with all the picks

HAWTHORN's involvement in this year's NAB AFL Trade Period won't end with Jarman Impey, list and recruiting manager Graham Wright says.

The Hawks secured the ex-Port Adelaide speedster, who grew up in Shepparton, in a pick swap on Thursday afternoon and are now intent on improving their draft position from No.42.

They were already without a first-round selection this year after using it to lure Jaeger O'Meara from the Suns in 2016, then offloaded No.33, 61 and next year's fourth-round pick for Impey. The Power also sent No.67 to Hawthorn.

"I think at this stage our priority will be to try and improve our draft position … so we'll try and do that without affecting anything for next year," Wright told hawthornfc.com.au.

"We feel as though next year's a good draft, so at this stage we'll try and improve our position with what we've got at the moment … whether that's through picks or players.

"We're unsure at this stage, but nothing is earmarked. Nothing's come up at this stage."

The Hawks are actively shopping uncontracted dasher Billy Hartung, who could potentially earn them a higher draft pick than 42.

Ty Vickery may also come into calculations after a difficult debut season at Waverley Park, but it may take giving up someone of the calibre of Jack Gunston or Luke Breust for Hawthorn to make a major play.

Paul Puopolo's name is constantly mentioned at this time of year, although he is unlikely to garner a high selection in the twilight of his career.
