Will Stewart Crameri find a new home?

THE CAREERS of Stewart Crameri and Mitch Honeychurch appear over at the Western Bulldogs, with the club needing to meet AFL list rules ahead of November's NAB AFL Draft.

Clubs are required to bring at least three players onto its lists by selecting them at the draft or upgrading someone from the rookie list.

The acquisition of Jackson Trengove (Port Adelaide), Hayden Crozier (Fremantle) and ex-Lion Josh Schache in the NAB AFL Trade Period after the departures of Jake Stringer (Essendon), Robert Murphy (retired), Matthew Boyd (retired) and Declan Hamilton (delisted), leave the Dogs with no scope to keep the uncontracted duo.

With head recruiter Simon Dalrymple likely to use just the club's two first-round picks (No.9 and No.16) in a perceived shallow draft pool after trading away their second, third and fourth-round picks, the Dogs look poised to meet the AFL's requirements by upgrading luckless rookie Roarke Smith with their final pick. reported last month that the Dogs would retain the running defender after two knee reconstructions in three seasons at the club.

Clubs are required to make their first list lodgement by 2pm next Tuesday before the delisted free agency period opens on November 1.

If their time at Whitten Oval has come to a conclusion, Crameri and Honeychurch appear to have some hope of being picked up by rival clubs as delisted free agents. reported last week that Greater Western Sydney has an interest in Honeychurch, with the Giants admirers of his fierce tackling and team-first approach.

While Crameri, stuck on 99 career games, has been linked to his former club Essendon, but that interest might have ended after the Bombers snared fellow forward Stringer in a trade with the Dogs.
