LUKE Hodge will wear the No.2 guernsey and Charlie Cameron the No.23 when they run out for the Brisbane Lions in 2018.

Hodge has worn the No.15 jumper for all 305 of his games in Hawthorn colours, but with All Australian and triple best and fairest winner Dayne Zorko already in that jumper, Hodge looked elsewhere.

It now means the four-time premiership star will wear the same number jumper as his great mate Jarryd Roughead.

For Cameron, it was a seamless transition, with the No.23 – the same number he wore in four seasons at the Crows – vacated at the Lions by the departing Josh Schache.

Although it's not the number he's worn for so many years, Hodge inherits a famous number at the Lions, made vacant by the delisted Ryan Harwood.

Chris Johnson made the guernsey famous in his illustrious 274-game career with the Lions, wearing it in three Grand Final wins.

The legendary Kevin 'Bulldog' Murray also wore the No.2 in his first stint with Fitzroy.

Second-year player Jacob Allison has opted to switch numbers, moving from No.37 to No.19, which previously belonged to Josh Clayton.
