CARLTON resumed pre-season training in the unfamiliar surrounds of Lakeside Stadium on Thursday.

The resurfacing of Ikon Park has so far kept the Blues off their home base and shuffled them out to the adjacent park ovals along Royal Parade.

Carlton Cricket Club is scheduled to train on one of those ovals on Thursday night.

The Albert Park venue, home to soccer club South Melbourne and the Victorian Institute of Sport, is likely to be part of the training rotation in the interim.

Ikon Park remains on track to be ready for the NAB AFL Women's night opener on Friday, February 2, between the Blues and Collingwood.

Recruits Matt Kennedy – with both his shoulders strapped – Darcy Lang and Aaron Mullett were among the Carlton footballers back, as was Ed Curnow, who is fit again after recovering from a bruised larynx.

Former Greater Western Sydney midfielder Kennedy had post-season shoulder surgery.
