In summary, she can accept a two-match sanction without appearing before the Tribunal.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Carlton Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with medium impact to the groin. The incident was classified as a three-match sanction. For the AFLW competition, the player can accept a two-match sanction with an early plea. Separate to changes made to the MRP for the AFL competition in 2018, the player can appear before the Tribunal without a financial cost to the club, but would risk a three-match sanction.

Katie Brennan, Western Bulldogs, has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against Stephanie Cain, Fremantle, during the fourth quarter of the Round One match between the Western Bulldogs and Fremantle, played at Whitten Oval on Sunday February 4, 2018.

In summary, she can accept a reprimand without appearing before the Tribunal.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Fremantle Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head. The incident was classified as a one-match sanction. For the AFLW competition, the player can accept a reprimand with an early plea. Separate to changes made to the MRP for the AFL competition in 2018, the player can appear before the Tribunal without a financial cost to the club, but would risk a one-match sanction.

Other Incidents Assessed:
Contact between the Western Bulldogs’ Bonnie Toogood and Fremantle’s Ashlee Atkins from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was reviewed. The ball was loose after Atkins was not able to take clean possession in the Fremantle forward line. The players are coming towards the ball from opposite directions. Toogood bends down to take possession and gets her hands on the ball and wins the contest. As the Western Bulldogs’ player takes the ball, contact is made to Atkins. It was the view of the MRO that Toogood was contesting the ball and had no realistic alternative way to contest the ball. No further action was taken.
